Service Description

When you love each other deeply… but sometimes it feels like you’re speaking completely different languages. At CRJ Therapy, I offer a warm, neurodiversity-affirming space for couples to slow things down, understand what’s happening underneath the conflict and work out what your relationship actually needs. I don’t see neurodivergence as something to be “fixed”, or as a reason one partner needs to change themselves for the other. I’m interested in the relationship between the two of you. Your needs matter, their needs matter, and the relationship matters too. We can explore where your differences complement each other, where they clash, and how you might find new ways of communicating, connecting and doing things together. You don’t need a formal diagnosis or to know exactly what’s “wrong”. Maybe one of you is autistic, ADHD or AuDHD; maybe both of you are; maybe you’re exploring the possibility; or maybe you simply recognise that your relationship doesn’t seem to work in the same way as other people’s. That’s ok. You’re welcome to bring the relationship exactly as it is. You don’t have to stop being yourselves to have a better relationship. Neurodivergence isn’t the problem, and your relationship isn’t broken because you communicate, regulate, experience the world or have needs differently. Therapy isn’t about deciding who is right. It’s about understanding both of you, the patterns between you, and what you both need. There isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy but we might explore together: Communication · Emotional regulation · Different needs · Conflict · Mental load · Connection & intimacy · Understanding each other. Perhaps you’re stuck in the same arguments, struggling with the mental load, feeling misunderstood or criticised, or finding that one of you needs space while the other experiences that as rejection. Perhaps you understand each other brilliantly one minute and completely miss each other the next. Sometimes the problem isn’t that you don’t love each other. It’s that you’ve become stuck in a pattern that neither of you knows how to change. Wondering whether couples therapy could help? I offer a free 20-minute initial telephone call to talk about what’s happening, what you’re looking for and whether CRJ Therapy feels like the right fit for yo
